For the first time in over 10 years Raymon Fong has finally decided to release limited prints of “The Chinese Palace”. This is Raymon’s most beloved artwork and through pressure and rigorous demand from public admirers he has decided to release a limited edition of the print while at the same time supporting a great cause ($5 of every print sold will be donated to the Qinghai Unicef relief fund).

The Chinese Palace is a study in 15th century imperial Chinese architecture. Each of these buildings were the were built with with meticulous detail. The epitome and symbolism of Chinese power and grace, the Forbidden City and its surrounding buildings are recognized as one of the most important 5 palaces in the world.

The illustration is a celebration of the architecture’s beauty. Raymon uses fine lines to illustrate the form of the palace alongside an unfinished rendering effect to hint at the colors used during the period of the building’s development.

Take Care of Your Painting

Paintings are painted on boards and wood, preserve your paintings by avoiding extreme room temperatures and humidity. Paintings should be kept in a well ventilated temperature and humidity controlled environment.

Try to avoid hanging over direct heat or moisture sources, for example, right over fires, radiators, heaters, hot water or central heating pipes; in bathrooms, kitchens or around swimming pools

Avoid making contact with the surface of the painting. When transporting or storing do not cover or wrap it in any material.

When hanging the painting, do not to place it where it can be knocked, bumped or dropped.

Avoid intense direct light and picture lights, they create heat on the surface of the painting. Consult a conservator for the best lighting and preservation methods.

Lines, shapes colour and composition have always interested me. What I see is a process that goes through sight, planning then execution. What I want to portray is the sense of balance in all my work, movement with hard lines and shapes while keeping an eerie sense of space and atmosphere. I want to take the viewer through a scene or landscape filled with more questions than answers.

My influences is a vast range of natural beings, motion and scenes. Isn’t the world a beautiful thing? And everything that embarks on it’s journey amazing? Why not capture this in a form of contemporary simplified shapes and expressive colours? As destructive as we are as people and our constant disregard for natural balance, I hope to retain all that is beautiful in our everyday lives through my artwork.

We’re only here for a short period of time; let’s make the most of it. If we have the talent to show or say something; why don’t we? Why keep our thoughts and views hidden away? As expressive as a tree maybe, standing, waving its branches proudly in between short gusts of wind. I as an artist would also like to extend myself to my limits. I would like to be apart of the world and not against it; this is how I would like to show my appreciation.

I’d like to formally announce the release of my second album “Relay” under the Our Nations Empire name. This is a ten song album written from the heart; played and performed by myself. Many of the songs touch our social and political lives and many of the songs are creative intuitions in which I had the pleasure of experiencing. I am pleased to share these moments in my life in song and I hope you will receive them with an open heart and mind.
